The Spring Dance

Author’s Notes

Author’s notes:

First and foremost, thank you to Cathy, for giving us Jix.  I could wax poetic, and ramble forever about how much I love this haven of Trixiedom, but I am trying to be succinct.  Six years, and going strong.  Thank you Cathy, and all of the Cathy helpers who keep it going.  This is Home on the Web!

Thanks go out to Mary (Dianafan) and Vivian (El) for doing my editing.  I struggled with this story a bit, and I whined a LOT!  Thank you so very much, ladies.  I appreciate you no end.  I also want to go on record to say that the end is entirely self-edited(‘cause it took so long to finish).  Any and all errors are mine, and mine alone.

In fact, all errors belong to me and me alone, despite the fact that MaryN and Vivian are awesome editors.  They edited all of the stories thus far.

This story began as a stand-alone piece, featuring a character designed by the winning bidder in the Horrorcane Fundraiser, Mary F.  Mary created Josie and her family, and the story grew and grew.  Thank you, Mary F, for your support, and for creating such a wonderful character for me to play with.

There used to be a photograph at the beginning of this story.  Unfortunately, iCloud seems to have eaten it. The little girls in the picture were the real Josie and Katie, Mary’s daughters.  They were completely adorable, and I miss them.  Mary, if you read this, I’d love to have another copy of it!

For those of you who need to know what happened to the culprits, well, here is where we play the Dragnet music:  Duhn, duhn, duhn, duhn. DUHN!

B.J. McClendon pled guilty to the charge of poisoning and possession.  Due to the circumstances behind his actions, and the testimony of Trixie Belden, Josie Fisher, Jim Frayne and Dan Mangan, B.J. was sentenced to two hundred hours of community service, and released to his father.  Principal Stratton assigned B.J. two weeks of detention.

Of the Cowhands, Derek and Willie were charged as adults and found guilty of possession with intent to distribute, kidnapping and felonious assault.  Derek and Willie are currently serving twelve year sentences on Riker’s Island.

Lurch and Dean were charged as juveniles.  They are incarcerated at the Juvenile Facility at Sing Sing, and each case will be reviewed at age 21.

Sandy, escaped capture.  Remember what Dan said, back in Chapter 7? “When one goes down, another steps up.” Hmmmm.

There is a definite possibility that Josie Fisher’s complete three part series of articles about her experience will be available at a future date. Okay.  It’s a certainty.

A large portion of the characters in this story belong to Random House.  An even larger portion belong to me.  I’m not going to differentiate between them, because anyone with a modicum of Trixie knowledge already knows.  I have not harmed any of Random House’s property--in fact, I might actually have given a couple of them a little more personality than they had before--nor am I earning any money from them.
